Growth, More Profits and Blue Flying Skies Ahead for Turkish Airlines

While recent years have been good, Turkish Airlines has had its share of difficulties. The airline reported a gross annual revenue that was more than 4 billion dollars US in 2010 alone. Yet for more than 2 decades in the 70s and 80s, the airline was plagued with a poor reputation due to frequent delayed flights and sub-standard customer service.

The airline also battled some several negative press after seven accidents from 1974 to 1983, along with several other serious events reported. But Turkish Airlines turned their fortunes around in the late 80s, as the government took a stand to influence their future. In fact, the turn of the century saw a rise in fortunes for Turkish Airlines that heralded a decade of blue sky flying.

In October 2010 Turkish Airlines announced that it would continue to expand its operations during 2011. Of course that is great news for this rapidly growing European airline. The Turkish Ministry of Transport released information that Turkish Airlines will fly to eleven new locations this year. Starting in March, Turkish Airlines will fly to Shiraz, Iran four times a week. Beginning in March, there will 4 weekly flight going to Los Angeles, California. This is wonderful news for the west coast of the United States. Turkish Airlines will also be going to the countries of China, Greece, Spain, France and 3 other locations in Italy.

Yet one more US flight gateway was added in June, 2010 for Turkish Airlines. This latest expansion brings the total number of US originated gateways to three with non-stop air travel from Washington DC to Istanbul, Turkey. There will be four flights per week flying out of Dulles International Airport. The airliner of choice will be the Airbus A330. The move represents continued efforts to allow more Americans the opportunity to discover the beauty of Turkey and all she has to offer. Surely, one could say that Istanbul has both old world and modern charm. In addition, there are plans for a fourth gateway that is planned for March 2011 that will begin in Los Angeles CA and stop in Istanbul.

This is good news for members of Miles & By utilizing a messaging application, these rewards club members are free to get account updates. The essence of this service is to make members aware of the status of their accrued miles. This is a very important service because not only does it have an effect on the member's actual benefits, but it also impacts the upgrade level requirements. The key purpose of this is to give the customers timely info in relation to their accounts so that they can utilize their benefits to their fullest.

The Turkish airlines marketing success allows them the ability to diversify their marketing efforts.

This is merely a universal principle of sound business practices. Yet many businesses simply don't bother to reinvest in their own growth, as Turkish Airlines have wisely done. Not only has it made the airline stronger, but it's allowed passengers to reap those benefits too.
